Are you actually Bob Weir? It seems odd, the number of times I've seen you plug TRI, and Bobby's post-GD material. Were you just trying to flatter yourself with this thread:

I'm onto you Bobby.

RBNW: "rich bobby nee weir"

[to assume his current money grubbing persona he had to reject his 60s past?]

Hmmmm ...

Robert "Bobby" Hall Weir. RBNW! (Well, he's dyslexic.)

Plus, I'm sure he does indeed think he's Rich But Not Wealthy. (Darned IA for having those SBDS up.)

You guys may be on to something.

Shipping powders back and forth
Singing black goes south and white comes north
And the whole world full of petty wars
Singing I got mine and you got yours
While the current fashions set the pace
Lose your step, fall out of grace
The radical, he rant and rage
Singing someone got to turn the page
And the rich man in his summer home
Singing just leave well enough alone
But his pants are down, his cover's blown
And the politicians throwing stones
So the kids, they dance, they shake their bones
'Cause it's all too clear we're on our own
Singing ashes, ashes, all fall down
Ashes, ashes, all fall down

lol

And he admits it!

Now we know what that lost-in-another-world expression is on R/B(n)W's face ... he's thinking up new posts.

I don't know if I should reveal this complex secret without a consulting fee. But since you're Bob, and you're having a hard time with that whole saving-for-kids-in-college thing, I'll consider your circumstances.

Just go here:

http://www.allhtmlcodes.com/image_code_generator.php

And then put the url in, which you get by right-clicking on the image you want and looking under "properties" for the thing that ends with jpg or whatever. Presto, instant fun for all.

Haha, ya know, it would help explain his deep hatred for Phish, which also comes up quite often:
http://archive.org/post/558059/just-think-if-jerry-was-shot-freebasing-in-his-car-at-golden-gate-park-yoko-ono-married-keith-and

And ducats' "he's an old grouchy drunk" comment, could help explain these types of posts:
http://archive.org/post/558120/what-if-jerry-lived-and-tidewater-hit-a-guardrail-on-the-way-to-his-only-show-and-died

It all makes sense now. All in good fun Bobby :-)

The Other One is my favorite GD song, so thank you for that one!

Honestly, I think that is a fairly boring rendition. Seems like they are just practicing, and Bobby's playing seems off at points. I don't think he plays anything too imaginative either. I find this Other One to be a hell of a lot better, however I unfortunately can't attribute much of that to Mr. Weir aka RBNW :P. He surrounds himself with great musicians in this clip, and that's what results in a good performance:
http://www.tristudios.com/videos/bob-weir-friends-other-one

All that being said, I do enjoy some of Bob's playing in recent years, but I find it to be very hit or miss. I love when he puts a good team of musicians together, something he is definitely good at doing. There's been a lot of great music that's resulted from TRI, so I definitely like what he's been up to lately, for the most part. I almost see Bob as more an orchestra leader these days than a leading musician in his projects. I think he should continue to try to keep things fresh by playing different styles with different musicians. I don't think they should milk Furthur any further. If he started a band with Kimock, Chimenti, and Wasserman, I would be very happy.

This is the kind of the stuff I like best with old Bobby:

Bob, you're obviously just bitter towards Mr. Kimock right now because you thought you were going to be doing those Ratdog reunion shows, and then Kimock scheduled a bunch of other stuff.

This is also very good:
